Leading Causes of Suicidal Death in Teens and Young Adults [infographic]

Majority (62.3%) of violent deaths in U.S. are suicides, followed by homicides (24.9%), deaths of undetermined intent (10.8%), legal intervention deaths (1.2%), according to a CDC report.

Among all age groups, youth (10-24) suicides are of great concerns because of the health care costs, lost productivity, morbidity, and premature death. In 2016 alone, in 32 U.S. states, a total of 3,655 youths aged 10-24 years died by suicide.
