Sarah L. Campbell, LPCI, CACI
Sarah is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Intern, in process until 2012 for full licensure and also a Certified Addictions Counselor. She has several years experience working with the adolescent population focusing mostly on substance abuse and mild behavior problems. She has worked primarily in the traditional outpatient setting and will be participating in the Partial Care and Intensive Outpatient Program with GenPsych in Sumter, South Carolina.
Her passion is working with young individuals struggling with substance abuse and addiction, as well as other high risk behaviors and co-occurring disorders, as well as coping skills and behavior modification. She has experience in play therapy, life skills education, anger management, and choice or reality therapy as well as CBT.
She graduated from the State University of New York at Brockport with a Bachelors in Psychology and Substance Abuse Studies, and then in 2008 graduated from Webster University in Columbia South Carolina with a Masters in Mental Health Counseling.
Anthony Mesiano Jr., LISW-CP, MSW, BCD
Anthony received his Bachelors Degree from Roberts Wesleyan College and earned his Masters of Social Work from Syracuse University. He has worked in private practice mental health counseling and the health care field for over 20 years. His specialty areas include depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, attention deficit disorders and other childhood and adolescent behavioral disorders. Additionally he works with couples and individuals on relationship issues as well as psychosocial stressors. Anthony also has an extensive background with geriatric clients, and has been a consultant for nursing homes,community care homes, as well as working on an inpatient geriatric psychiatric unit. He is an experienced group leader, facilitator and presenter.
Russell D. Rich, MA
Russell serves as the Program Administrator of GenPsych of South Carolina. He has extensive experience in providing treatment to diverse clientele in the six county service areas of South Carolina to include; Richland, Lexington, Sumter, Lee, Clarendon, Kershaw Counties and the Northern Alabama region to include; Huntsville, Cullman, Jackson and Russell counties. Russell has experience in providing services to a broad array of mental health issues such as: ADD/ADHD, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorders, substance abuse disorders, developmental disorders, school-related problems, family conflicts and relationship issues both in and outside of treatment centers as a provider and administrator and as a special education teacher.
His philosophy of treatment is rooted in the idea that people do not mind change, but do not like being made to change. Everyone is viewed as an individual with unique circumstances and needs, therefore, his approach is patient centered. He makes every effort to create a non-judgmental environment by demonstrating congruence (genuineness), empathy and unconditional positive regard toward his patients, their needs and circumstances. Russell encourages every patient to view treatment as a means of positive change which requires motivation and a dedication to improving their quality of life and not something that is forced upon them.
Russell completed his undergraduate education at Columbia International University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Theology, and a Master of Arts degree in Counseling at Webster University. Russell has served the children and families of South Carolina and Alabama for the past 20 years.
